Each project featured here is the result of deep, hands-on learning and personalized instruction designed to inspire critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world connections. From architectural marvels to renewable energy systems, our students take on ambitious challenges—and bring them to life in miniature form.

Hydropower Energy Conversion

This original project was developed to model how flowing water can be used to generate electricity. Students designed a functioning diorama that demonstrates clean energy conversion using physical science concepts—merging physics, environmental science, and engineering innovation.

Media & Entertainment

For this project, students were tasked with creating a digital rendition of influential media personnel who made a significant impact in their fields. One student chose to focus on individuals from media outlets in the music and film industries. Through research and digital design, the student highlighted key figures who shaped public perception, influenced cultural trends, and contributed to the evolution of entertainment media.

Inspirational Figures

The project focused on creating an art piece that highlights inspirational figures from diverse perspectives. Chosen for their impact through activism, innovation, leadership, or creativity, these individuals represent different forms of strength. The artwork explores how culture, experience, and values shape who we admire and why.

Sustainability

For this project, the student was tasked with creating a sustainable vision for a future community. Their illustration captures a reimagined neighborhood where architecture and nature thrive together. Focusing on vertical gardening, wind power, and solar technology, the student designed homes of various styles—modern, traditional, and contemporary—each equipped with green energy features. Rooftop solar panels, small-scale wind turbines, and living walls not only power the community but also enrich its aesthetic and environmental quality.

Whitestone Bridge

This local New York City bridge inspired a deep dive into truss design, local history, and civil engineering. Students collaborated to build a working model, applying geometry and load distribution principles.

432 Park Avenue

As one of the tallest residential skyscrapers in the Western Hemisphere, this project challenged students to explore skyscraper architecture, floor planning, and structural stability. Their model emphasized symmetry, proportion, and construction techniques.

Golden Gate Bridge

Students constructed a scaled model of this iconic suspension bridge, learning about tension and compression, bridge engineering, and the challenges of spanning long distances over water. The project also explored historical and geographic context tied to San Francisco’s infrastructure.
